Adept Rocketry - StagersThe ES231 Electronic Stager™ controls ignition of the second stage of a two-stage rocket. The ES236 is a dual sequential version that controls both the second and third stage ignition in a multistage rocket.Unlike a Timer, a Stager detects liftoff by first detecting acceleration, and then fires the next stage when it detects deceleration due to motor burnout. Also, a small amount of coast time may be added before ignition of the next stage. A Stager can also be used to control air-start sequencing of motors.
